This vacancy is for an Information Technology Specialist (IT Product Manager) in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) within the Department of Commerce.

As an Information Technology Specialist (IT Product Manager), you will perform the following duties: Serve as Information Technology Product Manager. Lead the software development lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance of BIS applications; oversee the deployment of applications to production environments and manage ongoing software maintenance updates. Oversee the design and development of systems capable of performing tasks that include the use of machine learning (Artificial Intelligence) to create, deliver, and maintain algorithms, large language models, and systems that can process and analyze data used to make intelligent decisions or predictions. Coordinate cross-functional teams, including developers, testers, system architects, and project managers to ensure timely and cost effective delivery of software solutions. Collaborate with stakeholders across BIS to understand requirements, prioritize features, and align development goals with mission objectives. Develop and maintain detailed project plans, budgets, risk assessments, and performance reports. Monitor and report on key performance metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement and mitigating risks.
