Information Technology Specialist (Network)

Summary

Supports U.S. Army Cyber Command by designing network diagrams, troubleshooting communication systems in Europe/Africa, and ensuring data network reliability for military operations, applying DISA and Army regulations.

About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Wiesbaden Germany. The initial length of this overseas tour is 36 months with possible extensions up to 5 years.

Prepare graphics and diagrams depicting the respective networks or communication systems in the European and African area of operations and responsibility.

Technically evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of systems troubleshooting, fault isolation and service restoration to ensure appropriate measures and resources are allocated to effectively and efficiently restore service to the users

Maintains continuous oversight of all Theater communications and data network in support of the United States Army Europe-Africa

Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of a broad range of technical information; uses sound, independent judgment to generate, evaluate, and execute alternative courses of action for immediate mitigation of operational impact

Understands and applies Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Circulars, Army Regulations, ARCYBER regulations, equipment Technical Manuals (TM), and internal/external Standard Operating Procedure.
