Information Technology Specialist (Policy and Planning)

About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Wiesbaden Germany . The initial length of this overseas tour is 36 months with possible extensions up to 5 years.

Developing and maintaining strategic plans for IT investments, developing and implementing IT policy, plans, and integration guidance to be achieved by the organization within the European Theater.

Ensures that both, timely performance of work and quality standards are met

Develops information technology procurement plans. Performs program, acquisition, deployment and operational planning in areas of responsibility, including any DOD or federal agency

Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for recommending and developing Theater-wide strategies, policies, plans, program/project implementations, and integration efforts based upon expert knowledge of the Army Information Mission Area and regulations

While serving a probationary period the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

This position requires the incumbent to possess, or obtain and maintain, a valid regular or official U.S. Passport.
