Information Technology Specialist (Systems Administration)

About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at US Army Regional Cyber Center, Camp Humphreys, South Korea. This is a position with an initial overseas tour of 36 months with possible extensions for a total of 5 years.

Serves as Senior Information Technology (IT) Specialist, Virtualization Systems Administrator and Analyst in the Systems Management Branch for the United States Army Regional Cyber Center-Korea.

Provides analysis, planning, design, installation, configuration, integration, testing, evaluation, implementation, and management of the systems environment in support of the organization's IT systems engineering technologies and business needs.

Directly responsible for the operations and maintenance of hardware (compute, network, storage), virtualized servers, and hosted applications on a converged architecture.

Directly responsible for the systems integration and server administration, availability, integrity, and recoverability of the back-end infrastructure consisting of a virtual machine software.

Identifies and defines business or technical requirements applied to the design; develops, implements, manages, and supports systems and networks; and evaluates proposals for the acquisition and maintenance of IT products or services.
