Information Technology (SYSADMIN)

This position is located in the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM), Office of Information Technology (OIT), with a duty location in Washington, DC.

The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum is a federally chartered, nonpartisan institution that was created by the US Congress to serve as America's national memorial to the victims of the Holocaust and an educational institution dedicated to the history and lessons of the Holocaust. The Museum seeks to educate Americans from all 50 states and all walks of life as well as international audiences. The Museum has three areas of expertise: Holocaust remembrance, Holocaust scholarship and education, and genocide prevention. Duties include: Serves as a principal planner and advisor to Network Systems' top management in the development, deployment, integration, operation and management of large-scale systems. Develops the deployment approach for the system integration, operation, and management of large-scale implementations of high-level and/or widespread systems that constitute new enterprise-class systems. Designs and conducts comprehensive studies to develop long-range information technology (IT) forecasts and recommendations affecting broad areas of future operations. Coordinates and performs the design and implementation of new IT systems and expansions or modifications to existing systems, including the implementation of various system configurations. Develops Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) templates, for use in new server deployments and to harden existing servers and workloads. Tracks the status of IT system design projects through the planning, development, modification, maintenance, and evaluation phases. Develops, oversees, and monitors recovery plans for system failure situations and utilizes knowledge, skill, tools, and documentation to isolate the root causes of issues. Serves as Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) and/or project leader for advanced system software/hardware project efforts, to include; management of budget and procurement, and development of overall plans, criteria, and program specifications.
