Infrastructure Assistant Manager / Manager
Job Description:
Actively participate in the design, implementation, and support of infrastructure initiatives and projects across data centers, cloud environments, co-location facilities, networking, and cybersecurity to align with business goals and IT strategies.
Engage in the full infrastructure lifecycle—from requirements gathering and proof-of-concept (PoC) to design, implementation, testing, and ongoing support and maintenance.
Develop, review, and update IT infrastructure governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements (e.g., GL20 and relevant regulatory requirement from Insurance Authority).
Perform server and network device hardening, including system configuration, firewall rules setting and configuration, anti-virus endpoint software management, endpoint device management, AD governance, etc.
Oversee daily operational maintenance and support of IT infrastructure and collaborate with Security Operation Center (SOC) to ensure high availability and system stability.
Collaborate closely with service providers and vendors throughout procurement, design, implementation, and incident resolution to ensure adherence to SLAs.
Be available for occasional after-hours work for system changes, maintenance, or incident resolution.
Working on 2nd and 3rd level complex technical issues is a must.
Develop and test business continuity and disaster recovery plans to ensure system resilience
Collaborate with stakeholders to align infrastructure and cybersecurity strategies with business objectives
Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to identify IT needs and drive new IT project implementations
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
At least 5-8 years of hands-on experience in delivering IT Infrastructure projects, preferably within insurance industry.
Certifications in relevant technologies is a plus (e.g., Alibaba, Azure, Cisco, VMware).
Solid experience in:
Cloud platforms (Alibaba Cloud, Tencent Cloud, Huawei Cloud, Azure, etc.).
Virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, Huawei DCS, etc.).
Infrastructure project design & implementation, including cross-region data centers, cloud hosting, exchange co-location setups, AI, or high-performance computing (HPC) technologies.
Hybrid environments involving cross-region, multi-language integrations, and collaboration with in-house and outsourced infrastructure teams.
Broad knowledge of emerging technologies and vendor capabilities in virtualization, OS (Windows/Linux), cloud, storage, AI, and cybersecurity. Familiarity with Chinese domestic IT products/providers is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for solution evaluation and incident troubleshooting.
Effective communication in English and Mandarin (conversational proficiency required).
Team player with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset, strong coordination skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multitasking environment with tight deadlines.
