Infrastructure & Capital Projects – Electrical Estimator (All levels), ANS
THE WORK:
- You'll analyze invitation-to-bid (ITB) documents, including construction drawings, specifications, and scope of work documents to determine the electrical requirements for data center and other complex projects.
- You'll perform detailed quantity take-offs (QTOs) using digital take-off software (e.g., Bluebeam, Accubid, LiveCount).
- You'll prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and other direct costs.
- You'll solicit, analyze, and level vendor and subcontractor quotes to ensure completeness and competitiveness.
- You'll develop detailed basis of estimate (BOE) documentation, outlining assumptions, inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications.
- You'll collaborate with the operations and pre-construction team to develop value-engineering ideas and constructability reviews.
- You'll participate in pre-bid and post-bid meetings (virtually) with clients, engineers, and general contractors.
- You'll utilize estimating software (e.g., Accubid, ConEst, McCormick) to build and format professional proposals.
- You'll maintain current knowledge of electrical codes, industry standards, material pricing, and labor rates.
- You'll manage multiple estimates simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience as an Electrical Estimator in the construction industry
- Proven experience estimating large-scale commercial or industrial electrical projects. Direct experience with data center projects is required
- Proficiency with electrical estimating software (e.g., Accubid, ConEst) and digital take-off tools (e.g., Bluebeam Revu)
BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, including but not limited to: primary and secondary power distribution, emergency/back-up power systems (generators, UPS, ATS), branch power, lighting, fire alarm, and grounding
- Exceptional analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and RFPs independently
