Summary
Leads construction and renovation projects for regulated life-sciences facilities (QC labs, pharma/biotech plants, cleanrooms) onsite in the Houston, TX area. Manages field execution, contractors, budgets, safety, and commissioning/validation readiness, drawing on MEP, HVAC, clean-utility, and GMP expertise.
THE WORK:
- You'll lead construction and renovation projects for QC laboratories, pharmaceutical and biotechnology facilities, cleanrooms, manufacturing support areas, and other regulated life sciences environments.
- You'll manage field execution from project planning through turnover, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, budget, quality standards, safety requirements, and client expectations.
- You'll coordinate daily construction activities with engineering, quality, validation, commissioning, EHS, operations teams, contractors, vendors, and client stakeholders.
- You'll oversee contractor performance, field resources, construction sequencing, and site logistics to support efficient project delivery in active facilities.
- You'll facilitate site walk-downs, coordination meetings, readiness reviews, safety audits, job briefings, and contractor alignment discussions to maintain accountability and communication.
- You'll support construction activities in GMP and non-GMP environments while minimizing operational disruptions and maintaining contamination control and facility access requirements.
- You'll apply technical knowledge of MEP systems, HVAC controls, electrical systems, clean utilities, laboratory gases, pressure cascades, HEPA filtration, laboratory equipment installations, and cleanroom infrastructure.
- You'll identify and mitigate project risks, resolve field issues, develop recovery strategies, evaluate budget impacts, and provide accurate project status updates.
- You'll coordinate commissioning, qualification, and validation readiness activities, including field verification, punch list management, documentation turnover, vendor coordination, and system startup support.
- You'll foster a culture of safety, quality, compliance, teamwork, and continuous improvement while building strong relationships with clients, contractors, and project partners.
- Onsite at client site: The work location for this role is onsite with our clients and partners to enable delivery and cultivate our client relationships.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline; alternatively, a high school diploma/GED with equivalent construction management experience
- Minimum 10 years of construction management experience, including experience supporting regulated life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, laboratory, cleanroom, or manufacturing facilities
- 10 years of experience managing multiple contractors, field teams, project priorities, budgets, schedules, and stakeholder expectations in complex construction environments
- Industry experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, laboratory, cleanroom, GMP, or regulated manufacturing environments
- Technical knowledge of MEP systems, HVAC controls, electrical systems, clean utilities, laboratory gases, pressure cascades, HEPA filtration, laboratory equipment installation, commissioning support, and construction project execution
BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:
- Direct experience delivering QC laboratories, analytical laboratories, microbiology laboratories, pharmaceutical laboratories, cleanrooms, or GMP facility construction projects
- OSHA 30 certification or willingness to obtain the certification
- Experience coordinating shutdowns, outages, tie-ins, phased construction, and work within occupied or operational laboratory and manufacturing facilities
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), electrical safety requirements, job hazard analysis, and contractor safety management
- Familiarity with commissioning, qualification, validation processes, turnover documentation, quality systems, and inspection readiness requirements
