Summary

The Senior Infrastructure Specialist will play a pivotal role by supporting the New York IT team to manage a heavy workload mainly stemming from major infrastructure upgrades and regulatory requirements. This position is vital in mitigating operational risks, managing backlog, and ensuring that migration deadlines for 2026 are met effectively. Close coordination with internal teams and external vendors is crucial, and preference will be given to candidates based in Gdansk, although locations in Warsaw and Lodz are also considered.

Main Responsibilities

The key responsibilities include:

  • Migration of 124 SQL Server 2016 databases to SQL 2022 environments/clusters.

  • Upgrade, migration, or decommissioning of the Windows Server 2016 estate (27 servers).

  • Support OS and application upgrades (e.g., Prime, SFTP).

  • Execute and support upgrades of vendor-provided applications.

  • Coordinate closely with external vendors on planning and delivery execution.

  • Support ongoing lifecycle management including incident handling and monitoring.

  • Track and coordinate upgrade and migration activities.

  • Support daily operational tasks and incident resolution.

Key Requirements

  • Strong experience with Windows Server administration (2016 to newer versions).

  • Proficient in SQL Server (2016 to 2022 migrations, clustering, performance tuning).

  • Experience in application and infrastructure lifecycle management.

  • Proven ability in large-scale infrastructure migrations.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Oracle, Java, or Python.

  • Knowledge of Power BI or reporting solutions.

  • Familiarity with Identity & Access Management (e.g., IIQ / SailPoint).

  • Experience with SSO onboarding frameworks.

  • Understanding of banking domain systems and regulatory frameworks.
