Infrastructure Engineer
Summary
Infrastructure/DevSecOps Engineer owning Azure cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, platform security, and compliance for a SaaS fintech company, using Terraform and IaC tools across cloud-hosted and customer-managed deployments.
Salary: AUD 105000 - 125000 per annum
We are working with a SaaS company that develops finance software for financial institutions to manage sensitive financial data, and supports customers across both cloud-hosted and customer-managed environments. As our client's customer base grows, so does the complexity of managing deployments, security, infrastructure, and compliance. We're now looking for an experienced Infrastructure / DevSecOps Engineer to take ownership of this critical function and help build the next stage of our platform capability.
The Opportunity
This isn't a role where you'll be one specialist among a large platform team.
You'll be the person who owns infrastructure, deployment automation, platform security, and operational excellence. You'll have the autonomy to identify issues, implement improvements, and create the systems and processes that allow our engineering team to move faster and more securely.
If you've worked in a growing SaaS business where you've worn multiple hats and taken ownership of cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own and continually enhance CI/CD pipelines across build, test, release, and deployment processes.
- Manage Azure infrastructure, environments, monitoring, and operational performance across a multi-customer platform.
- Drive platform security, including secrets management, vulnerability remediation, access controls, and security governance.
- Support and contribute to security certification and compliance initiatives.
- Reduce manual deployment effort through automation, infrastructure-as-code, and streamlined provisioning processes.
- Improve observability and monitoring so issues are identified before customers experience them.
- Partner closely with software engineers to improve reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience managing cloud infrastructure in production environments (Azure preferred, AWS or GCP also considered).
- Strong hands-on experience designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Expertise with infrastructure-as-code and automation tools such as Terraform, Bicep, ARM, PowerShell, Bash, or similar.
- A practical security mindset with experience managing secrets, patching, vulnerability remediation, and identity/access controls.
- The confidence and capability to own an infrastructure function rather than operate within a highly segmented enterprise team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment.
- Exposure to ISO 27001, SOC 2, or similar security certification frameworks.
- Experience supporting audits, compliance programs, or security accreditation processes.
- Windows/.NET and SQL Server hosting experience.
- Experience within financial services, payments, fintech, or other regulated industries.
- Exposure to both cloud-hosted and customer-hosted deployments of the same software platform.
Why Join Our Client?
- Play a pivotal role in a growing Australian technology business.
- Own a function that directly impacts the company's ability to scale.
- Work across cloud infrastructure, security, automation, compliance, and platform engineering.
- Influence technical direction and platform strategy.

- Join a collaborative team solving complex challenges in the financial technology sector.
