Infrastructure Engineer
Summary
Designs, builds, and maintains cloud-native infrastructure using Kubernetes, Docker, and IaC tools like Terraform for a defence-tech or big-tech environment.
Salary: £100,000 - 105,000 per year
Requirements:- 4–8 years of experience in infrastructure, SRE, or platform engineering, with a strong software engineering foundation
- Production experience with Kubernetes and Docker
- Proficiency in Java, Python, Go, or JavaScript
- Experience with infrastructure as code and CI/CD, including Terraform or Ansible
- UK SC clearance held or clearly eligible, with UK nationality or long-term residency
- Background in defence technology or big-tech/major-cloud SRE
- Bonus experience in drones, self-driving, robotics, or edge systems
- Build and operate high-performance, scalable services for large-scale data platforms supporting UK government national-security deployments
- Own production reliability end to end, including monitoring, alerting, configuration management, and upgrades
- Deploy new products into production and lead migrations to newer infrastructure, including air-gapped estates using an in-house continuous-delivery engine
- Reduce operational toil through automation, using data platforms and LLM/AI tooling to build novel systems
- Participate in an on-call rotation approximately every 5 to 6 weeks from a secure facility
