Location: Milton Keynes (On-site) Salary: £66 000 Job Type: Permanent
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to support and develop our IT infrastructure, with a strong focus on Microsoft technologies and Microsoft Azure.
Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure, you will take ownership of infrastructure issues, help maintain reliable and secure systems, and play a key role in migrating services from on-premises environments into the cloud. You will also provide technical guidance and support to two team members.
This role would suit an engineer with strong hands-on infrastructure experience, particularly in Azure cloud environments, who can troubleshoot complex issues and contribute to ongoing infrastructure improvements.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage and resolve infrastructure issues across server, network and cloud environments.
• Support and maintain Microsoft-based infrastructure and services.
• Play a key role in migrating on-premises infrastructure and workloads into Microsoft Azure.
• Design, configure and support Azure landing zones to establish secure and scalable cloud environments.
• Maintain and improve server infrastructure, ensuring performance, availability and reliability.
• Support LAN and WAN infrastructure and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
• Identify infrastructure risks and implement solutions to improve stability and security.
• Provide technical support and guidance to two team members.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and optimisation of the organisation's infrastructure.
Essential Skills and Experience
• Strong experience in an Infrastructure Engineer or similar infrastructure-focused role.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Proven experience migrating infrastructure and workloads from on-premises environments to the cloud.
• Experience with Azure landing zones.
• Strong knowledge of the Microsoft technology stack and server infrastructure.
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure issues.
• Knowledge of LAN and WAN networking.
• Ability to work independently while supporting and guiding other team members.
Desirable Experience
• VMware virtualisation experience.
• VMware Horizon experience.
• Experience supporting hybrid infrastructure environments.
