Infrastructure Manager

TWGI Job Description

Job Purpose and Function

The Infrastructure Manager is responsible for managing the daily and shift operations of The Wills Group's infrastructure environment, including network hardware deployment, software deployment, and services, across retail locations, headquarters, and cloud platforms. This role monitors performance, resolves routine issues, supports compliance with established standards, and ensures infrastructure services run reliably day to day. The Infrastructure Manager works under the direction of the IT Director, executing established roadmaps, policies, and standards rather than setting strategy.

Note that this role will require travel to HQ and retail locations located in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

How You'll Make an Impact (Key Accountabilities)

  • Supervise the daily operations of enterprise infrastructure, including network, systems, and cloud-connected services, to ensure performance objectives are met.
  • Enforce established policies and procedures that support compliance with industry standards and regulations, minimize downtime, and maintain efficient operations.
  • Monitor infrastructure performance and logs; document incidents and changes occurring in daily operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve routine infrastructure and network issues; participate in root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrence and identify potential technological, training, or process improvements.
  • Train technicians and administrators on best practices, tools, and technologies.
  • Automate routine tasks using scripting or basic programs where appropriate.
  • Support patching, maintenance windows, and configuration standards as directed by the Infrastructure Manager.
  • Advise on budget expenditures to help ensure required tools and equipment are procured and maintained.
  • Assist with vendor coordination and day-to-day service escalations; flag SLA or performance issues to the Infrastructure Manager.
  • Support monitoring, alerting, and documentation practices that help the team proactively identify service degradation or recurring issues.
  • Supervise cloud and hybrid infrastructure services, including Azure, SaaS platforms, virtualization, storage, backup, monitoring, identity integration, and cost optimization
  • Manage disaster recovery and business continuity readiness for infrastructure services, including backup strategy, recovery testing, documentation, and validation of recovery capabilities
  • Collaborate with IT, Operations, Finance, Security, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver infrastructure solutions that improve uptime, customer experience, productivity, and operational efficiency.

  • Collaborate with cybersecurity leadership to implement secure infrastructure standards, vulnerability remediation, access controls, patching, logging, monitoring, backup protection, and zero-trust-aligned practices.

What We’re Looking For (Required Qualifications and Experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 3-5 years of experience in infrastructure, systems, networking, or related IT operations roles.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise networking, cloud-connected infrastructure, endpoint support, and monitoring tools.
  • Familiarity with patching, access controls, logging, and basic compliance expectations.
  • Relevant certification preferred, such as Network+, Security+, or an equivalent infrastructure certification.

An ideal candidate will also have:

  • Experience supporting multi-site retail, convenience, fuel, or distributed operations environments.
  • Familiarity with ITSM processes, incident management, and documentation practices.
  • Strong communication, training, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage day-to-day priorities in an environment where technology availability directly impacts operations.

Competencies

  • Delivering results and meeting customer expectations.
