About the RoleWe are seeking a Senior Infrastructure & Network Engineer to join a growing, multi-site enterprise undergoing an exciting digital transformation.
This is a high-visibility, senior position designed for a hands-on technical lead who can comfortably navigate both complex project delivery and Level 3 escalation support. The ideal candidate will bring a strong track record in on-premises to Azure cloud migrations, modern endpoint management via Microsoft Intune/Autopilot, and automated deployment practices using Infrastructure as Code (Bicep/Terraform). You will also take operational ownership of enterprise firewall and multi-site connectivity solutions, primarily centered on Fortinet (FortiGate) SD-WAN.
Key Responsibilities
- Cloud Architecture & Migrations: Drive ongoing cloud modernization, including leading on-premises and hybrid workload migrations into Microsoft Azure IaaS/PaaS environments.
- Modern Workplace & Endpoint Governance: Architect, deploy, and maintain Microsoft Intune configurations, Windows Autopilot zero-touch provisioning, compliance baselines, and feature update rings across a multi-site device fleet.
- Network & Security Management: Manage and optimize multi-site network infrastructure, including Fortinet (FortiGate) firewalls, SD-WAN configurations, site-to-site IPsec VPNs, VLAN segmentation, and Zero Trust security controls.
- Automation & Infrastructure as Code: Leverage Bicep or Terraform alongside PowerShell scripting and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines to drive deployment consistency, security remediation, and cloud cost governance.
- Level 3 Escalations & Operational Continuity: Act as the primary L3 escalation engineer for complex cloud, identity, and networking issues while participating in structured change management (CAB) and incident response workflows.
- Stakeholder & Technical Leadership: Translate business objectives into clear technical documentation, runbooks, and solution proposals while interfacing confidently with key internal stakeholders.
Key Requirements & Skills:
- Senior Infrastructure Experience: Experience in enterprise systems or cloud engineering, with proven experience leading full on-premises to Azure cloud migration projects.
- Microsoft Cloud & Identity: Deep expertise across Microsoft Azure (VNets, Compute, Storage), Entra ID (Azure AD), M365, Conditional Access, and PIM/PAM.
- Modern Endpoint Management: Hands-on experience building and maturing Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot environments from scratch.
- Fortinet / Network Depth: Demonstrated experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Fortinet (FortiGate) firewalls, SD-WAN, and core routing/switching.
- IaC & Automation: Working proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Bicep or Terraform) and PowerShell scripting for automated environment provisioning.
- Security Standards: Familiarity with endpoint threat protection (Defender for Endpoint), identity governance, and alignment with cybersecurity frameworks (such as ACSC Essential Eight or Zero Trust).
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written technical communication skills, with a track record of presenting proposals to Change Advisory Boards or executive leadership.
