Infrastructure Specialist / Architect (VMWare, over $60K)
Salary: $50,000 – $65,000 per month
Key responsibilities:
Manage daily infrastructure operations, system performance monitoring, backup administration, and disaster recovery activities
Perform advanced troubleshooting and resolve critical incidents independently
Provide after-hours support for maintenance activities on a roster basis
Establish proactive monitoring and alerting mechanisms to enhance system reliability and availability
Conduct capacity planning and optimise virtual infrastructure resources
Plan and execute lifecycle management of Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) platforms, including hardware, firmware, VMware, and storage upgrades
Lead infrastructure enhancement projects, system integrations, software releases, and patch management initiatives
Ensure compliance with Government IT security standards, including S17 and G3 requirements
Prepare procurement documents and manage procurement activities for infrastructure hardware, software, licensing, and maintenance services
Provide guidance and supervision to junior team members
Requrements:
Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline
Minimum 5 years of post-qualification IT experience
At least 2 years of experience in an Architect, Team Lead, Supervisory, Senior Infrastructure Engineer, or equivalent role
Strong hands-on experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), VMware Lifecycle Management, VMware vSAN and SAN Administration
Strong hands-on experience with Stretched Cluster Design and Operations and Enterprise Virtualisation Technologies
Exposure to container platforms such as Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes (K8s/K3s)
Holder of VMware professional certifications (e.g. VMware Certified Advanced Professional) will be an advantage
Good project management skills
Good communication skills
Written test will be arranged in interview
