Infrastructure Support Engineer
Salary: £35,000 - 35,000 per year
Requirements:- We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Support Engineer with a support background and the ability to move into a 3rd line support and engineering role.
- We require strong IT helpdesk and end-user support experience.
- We require experience administering Microsoft 365, including user and license management, SharePoint, and Exchange.
- We require experience with Microsoft cloud technologies, including Intune, Autopilot deployments, Entra, MFA, and Conditional Access.
- We require experience with Windows Server 2016-2019, server hardware, Active Directory, and Hyper-V.
- We require familiarity with firewall configuration fundamentals.
- We require experience with backup methodologies and backup management.
- We require a customer-focused approach and an understanding of end-user requirements.
- Desirable experience includes networking fundamentals such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, subnetting, and VLANs.
- Desirable experience includes Cyber Essentials process and implementation.
- Desirable experience includes cloud-delivered VoIP systems such as Teams Voice.
- Desirable experience includes SQL Server and Veeam or other backup technologies.
- We will rely on you to support the modernisation of our IT estate, covering both technology and processes.
- We will expect you to help guide the selection and implementation of technology and provide the technical expertise needed to deliver requirements.
- You will support our Wintel-based on-premises infrastructure as we move toward a serverless computing strategy with cloud-based technologies.
- You will analyse our existing infrastructure and suggest and research improvements aligned to our strategy.
- You will help ensure our cybersecurity objectives are met.
- You will assist our support desk team with end-user support escalations.
- You will monitor and maintain all aspects of our infrastructure.
- You will carry out preventive maintenance and predictive failure analysis.
- You will undertake project-related tasks to improve and support our IT estate.
- You will participate in change management activities to ensure services are delivered in a coordinated and supported manner.
- You will produce documentation to improve workflows for the support team and the wider business.
- You will support starter, mover, and leaver activities, including device and account provision.
- You will monitor, patch, and upgrade infrastructure components on a regular basis.
- You will identify opportunities to automate and streamline processes.
- You will monitor and respond to security incidents and support remediation and continuous improvement.
- You may be required to work occasional hours outside core times for upgrades and maintenance.

We are recruiting for an Infrastructure Support Engineer to join our small team in Tiverton, Devon, supporting an engineering manufacturer. This is a site-based role with some hybrid working available after probation and for project-based work. We offer a competitive salary, a benefits package including pension and healthcare cashback schemes, 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays, and free on-site parking. Working hours are 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday, with occasional flexibility for out-of-hours work and some travel as required.
