Infrastructure Support Engineer

You provide technical support for desktop systems in a mixed physical and virtual environment. You troubleshoot Linux workstations, applications, peripherals, networking, audio-visual issues, hardware failures, and performance problems while maintaining the computing environment and improving Python-based automation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for desktop systems
  • Troubleshoot workstation operating systems
  • Troubleshoot applications and peripherals
  • Troubleshoot network and audio-visual issues
  • Analyze and resolve hardware failures
  • Maintain networks and computing environments
  • Monitor hardware performance
  • Tune hardware performance
  • Support production and back-office computing
  • Support end users
  • Improve automation skills with Python

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of desktop support or related experience
  • Knowledge of PC hardware and computer internals
  • Linux workstation troubleshooting skills
  • Linux command-line knowledge
  • Git familiarity
  • Hardware failure troubleshooting skills
  • Hardware monitoring and performance-tuning experience
  • Data center connectivity knowledge
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking
  • Ability to lift 40–50 pounds
  • Ability to work weekend and evening shifts when required
  • Computer science or IT educational background preferred
