Infrastructure Support Engineer
You provide technical support for desktop systems in a mixed physical and virtual environment. You troubleshoot Linux workstations, applications, peripherals, networking, audio-visual issues, hardware failures, and performance problems while maintaining the computing environment and improving Python-based automation.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for desktop systems
- Troubleshoot workstation operating systems
- Troubleshoot applications and peripherals
- Troubleshoot network and audio-visual issues
- Analyze and resolve hardware failures
- Maintain networks and computing environments
- Monitor hardware performance
- Tune hardware performance
- Support production and back-office computing
- Support end users
- Improve automation skills with Python
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of desktop support or related experience
- Knowledge of PC hardware and computer internals
- Linux workstation troubleshooting skills
- Linux command-line knowledge
- Git familiarity
- Hardware failure troubleshooting skills
- Hardware monitoring and performance-tuning experience
- Data center connectivity knowledge
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking
- Ability to lift 40–50 pounds
- Ability to work weekend and evening shifts when required
- Computer science or IT educational background preferred
