Industrial Engineer

Position Summary
The Industrial Engineer will be responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, improving productivity, reducing waste, and supporting efficient plant operations within a fast-growing automotive manufacturing environment.
This role focuses on process optimization, line balancing, capacity planning, continuous improvement, and the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles. The Industrial Engineer will work closely with Production, Quality, Logistics, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to support plant ramp-up, stable serial production, and operational excellence.
Main Responsibilities
Analyse and optimize manufacturing processes, including Injection Moulding, Ultrasonic Welding, Lamination, Edge Folding, Assembly, and related operations
Improve production processes through cycle time analysis, labour efficiency improvements, workstation layout optimization, and manufacturing cost control
Conduct industrial engineering studies to eliminate waste, streamline workflows, improve line efficiency, and support production stability and capacity expansion
Develop and implement line balancing and manpower planning strategies
Conduct time studies and establish standard operation times
Support production ramp-up and capacity planning activities
Identify productivity improvement opportunities and cost reduction initiatives
Implement Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies such as 5S and Kaizen
Monitor KPIs related to efficiency, scrap rates, labour productivity, and OEE
Prepare process documentation, work instructions, and production standards
Optimize equipment utilization and production flow
Participate in new production line setup and industrialization projects
Collaborate with the Quality Department on process capability improvement and defect reduction initiatives
Support ergonomics and workplace optimization activities
Coordinate with Maintenance and Engineering teams to implement process improvements
Prepare reports, analyses, and presentations
Support training activities related to production processes and operational standards
Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards and safety requirements
Support new project capacity planning, output calculations, and quotation activities
Establish standard times and support SAP/MES system implementation and continuous on-site improvement activities
Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
Experience
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in Industrial Engineering within a manufacturing environment; strong recent graduates may also be considered
Automotive industry experience is highly preferred
Experience in greenfield or start-up projects is an advantage
Experience with production line setup and optimization is preferred
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and methodologies (5S, Kaizen, Continuous Improvement, etc.)
Experience with time studies and MTM analysis
Knowledge of production planning and capacity calculations
Understanding of manufacturing KPIs and OEE analysis
Advanced MS Excel and data analysis skills
Experience with ERP systems; SAP knowledge is an advantage
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and process documentation
Language Skills
Strong English communication skills required
Chinese language skills are considered an advantage
