Compensation: $55k – $75k • No equity

🎼 Who we are 🎼

Flat is the online music editor offering the most intuitive experience to write, learn and share music. Founded in 2015 by 4 developers and music lovers under the company name Tutteo, we've been profitable and independent since 2017.

Today we serve 6M+ musicians (Flat), tens of thousands of schools (Flat for Education), and power embedded music notation across the web (Flat Embed). We're bootstrapped, profitable, and building for the long term.

🚀 The Challenge 🚀

We're looking for an Inside Account Executive to turn interest in Flat for Education into signed schools. Every week, music teachers and school administrators start trials with us. Your job is to reach them quickly, understand what their classroom or district needs, and guide them all the way to purchase, including the quote, the purchase order and the paperwork schools require.

You'll also grow the relationships we already have by helping existing schools add teachers, move to multi-year plans or roll Flat out across their district. Just as important, you'll help us refine a sales process that's clear, repeatable and documented, so it keeps working as we grow.

You'll report to the Director of Account Management & Customer Success and work closely with our Customer Success Manager, marketing team and service desk. We win as a team, and we're looking for someone who wants it that way.

🎩 What you'll own

  • Trial conversion: follow up on new trials quickly and consistently, book calls, run demos and turn interested teachers into paying schools.
  • The purchase process: quotes, purchase orders, renewals and school paperwork such as data privacy agreements, sole-source letters and vendor forms.
  • Expansion: find and close more seats, multi-year agreements and district-wide rollouts with existing customers.
  • Renewals, with Customer Success: partner with our CSM on at-risk renewals and accounts ready to grow.
  • Pipeline accuracy: keep HubSpot up to date so the whole team can see the pipeline and forecast with confidence.
  • The sales motion: improve email sequences, follow-up timing, deal stages and reporting.
  • The feedback loop: bring what you hear from schools back to marketing and product, so we attract the right leads and build what teachers need.
  • The school-year rhythm: plan around the school calendar, ready for spring budget season and the summer renewal rush.

🛠 What you need to be a good fit 🛠

  • You've sold to schools. You have 2+ years in inside sales, account executive or account management, ideally selling to K-12 schools or districts.
  • You convert inbound. You've turned trials or inbound leads into customers, and you have numbers to show for it: follow-up speed, quotes per month, close rates.
  • You know how schools buy. Budget cycles, purchase orders, procurement and approvals don't slow you down.
  • You handle volume. You manage many deals at once without letting any slip, alongside the occasional larger district conversation.
  • You build process. You've built or improved a sales process, not just followed one.
  • You live in your CRM. You have strong CRM habits, and HubSpot experience is a plus.
  • You communicate clearly. You can talk to teachers, principals and procurement offices, often in the same day.
  • You're a team player. You'd rather the whole team hit its target than win alone.
  • Full professional proficiency in English. A love of music, or music education experience, is a real plus.

🏡 The Tutteo Approach 🏡

  • When big projects come along, we all pitch in. Doing the dirty work is what we thrive on.
  • We value feedback, honesty, and transparency.
  • We're open to failure. A growth bet that doesn't move the metric is a valid result; a fix that doesn't ship is a process failure, and we know the difference.
  • As the company grows, so do we.
  • Talent has no borders. We're remote-first, rooted in Europe.

💶 Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $55,000 to $75,000, based on experience and seniority
  • Performance bonus tied to company growth targets. There's no individual commission; we push toward company goals together.
  • 100% remote within the US, asynchronous, with no daily or weekly meeting overhead. You'll be available during US school hours to reach teachers and districts.
  • 25 days of paid time off plus local bank holidays, paid sick leave and health insurance
  • Perks for wellness and education
  • Annual company retreats plus regular online gatherings
  • Financial support to build your ideal work setup

The salary range is indicative. The actual gross offered is adjusted to your location and contract type so the package stays fair and competitive wherever you are.

🤝 How to apply 🤝

Please begin your note with the words "Music for All" so we know you've read this far.

Then answer the following questions:

  1. A teacher started a trial 10 days ago and loves Flat, but says: "My district handles purchasing and I don't know who to talk to." What are your next three steps?
  2. Tell us about a sales process you built or improved. What did you change, and what happened to the numbers?
