Inside Sales Consultant
Position Summary
New York Wine & Spirits is launching a next-generation Inside Sales organization designed to redefine how we engage customers, grow brands, and support supplier partners across New York State.
This is a professional sales role responsible for owning a portfolio of customers, building lasting business relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and delivering measurable business results.
As one of our Wine & Spirits Inside Sales Representatives, you will help shape the future of our Inside Sales organization while working alongside sales leadership to build a scalable, best-in-class Inside Sales organization centered on customer growth.
Sales Representatives engage customers through an omnichannel approach including phone, email, and digital communication to build trusted relationships, help customers solve business challenges and drive profitable growth.
Responsibilities:
- Own and manage an assigned portfolio of customer accounts, driving profitable sales growth, customer engagement, and long-term business relationships.
- Proactively identify opportunities to increase sales, improve purchasing consistency, recover inactive or at-risk accounts, and expand customer share of wallet.
- Build trusted customer partnerships through proactive communication, consultative selling, and a deep understanding of each customer's business needs.
- Leverage customer data, CRM insights, purchasing history, and business intelligence to develop informed recommendations and identify incremental sales opportunities.
- Execute targeted sales outreach through outbound phone calls, email, and other customer engagement channels to drive sales growth and supplier execution.
- Develop a deep understanding of MBD’s supplier partners, their brands, products, or services to effectively answer customer questions and provide recommendations.
- Assist customers with product recommendations, order placement, order modifications, issue resolution, and general account support while delivering exceptional customer service.
- Monitor customer purchasing trends and market opportunities, communicating key insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Maintain accurate and detailed customer records, sales activity, and account plans within Salesforce or other CRM platforms.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of sales processes, technology, and customer engagement strategies while supporting new initiatives and organizational growth.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in sales, account management, customer service, or other customer-facing business roles preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships, communicate effectively, and influence customer purchasing decisions.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple customer accounts and priorities.
- Self-motivated with a proactive mindset and a passion for delivering measurable business results.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with Salesforce or other CRM platforms preferred.
- Ability to analyze customer information and use data to support sales planning and decision making.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Wine, beer, or beverage industry experience preferred.
- Wine & Spirits product knowledge is a plus.
- Experience with CRM systems and customer relationship management.
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
Hourly Salary: $29.00-$31.00

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus. |
