JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Inside Sales Representative
Reports to: Machine Sales Manager (Pacific Region)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Division: HPC
Department: Machine Sales
Locations: Waipahu
POSITION SUMMARY: The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) influences sales of Caterpillar Product Support and technology offerings in the Pacific region. This key role builds and maintains relationships with select customers and keeps them informed of Hawthorne’s products, services, and promotions. The ISR assists in Hawthorne’s ongoing customer account management and sales efforts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Prospects and develops customer accounts. Establishes and maintains close working relationships with customers at all levels.
- Delivers information on current products, services, and promotions offered by Product Support.
- Creates and provides customer quotes and follows up to close Product Support and technology sales.
- Follows up on expiring customer agreements and subscriptions to obtain timely renewals.
- Develop e-commerce and other business opportunities for select customer accounts.
- Maintains current customer information (current contact information, equipment/fleet lists, etc.).
- Generates leads in SalesLink (CRM) for other Hawthorne business units and assigns them to the appropriate branch or division representative.
- Effectively utilizes CRM and other technology applications to better assist customers.
- Acts as a main contact for Product Support assisting walk-in traffic and unassigned sales inquiries.
- Makes occasional sales calls on customers in other assigned markets and maintains a standard quoting process for Product Support sales.
- Maintains sales call reports and weekly call planners.
- Develops sales goals and objectives for each market.
- Assists in marketing campaigns, special events, and other duties as needed.
- Performs any job that may be assigned as necessary to meet the company, department or individual goals and objectives.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Minimum of two years in customer service or sales & marketing role, construction industry preferred.
- Must be able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must have a positive attitude and be a self-starter.
- Must be organized and a good planner.
- Must have the ability to set and meet goals.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Walking and moving about on foot often up and down stairs.
- Handing: Seizes help or works with hands.
- Lifting: Raises or lowers miscellaneous paperwork.
- Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.
- Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.
- Standing: Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.
- Vision: Read computer and paperwork.
- Talking: Communications by phone and in person.
- Sitting: Sits at desk. Sits for long periods of time.
- Climbing: May climb on and off various equipment.
ENVIRONMENTAL:
Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.
Temp/Weather: Works in an office environment, with occasional shop requirements.
