The Opportunity

Theater Outsource is seeking a Theatrical Drapery Sales & Design Specialist for an established theatrical equipment and fabrication company in Greensboro, North Carolina. This is a consultative, detail-driven role for someone who understands stage drapery and can guide a customer from the first inquiry through design, quoting, production, delivery, and invoicing.

You will build relationships with new and existing customers, translate project needs into practical drapery solutions, and coordinate closely with vendors and the manufacturing team to keep orders accurate and on schedule.

What You’ll Do

Develop new business while supporting and growing established customer accounts.

Consult with customers to identify the right theatrical drapery products, fabrics, treatments, styles, and specialty applications for their needs.

Create basic drawings in CAD and communicate proposed solutions clearly through visual and written documentation.

Prepare accurate quotes, proposals, contracts, work orders, and invoices, including material, labor, freight, and delivery considerations.

Manage orders from initial inquiry through production, shipment, billing, and customer follow-up.

Coordinate with vendors, monitor material availability, and schedule manufacturing to meet customer expectations.

Estimate delivery dates and proactively communicate changes, risks, or issues.

Resolve customer or vendor concerns professionally and escalate issues when appropriate.

Maintain accurate customer, tax-exempt, payment, order, and account information.

Review sales activity and trends while developing and contacting prospective customers.

What You Bring

Working knowledge of stage and drapery terminology, fabric selection and treatment, standard styling, and specialty applications.

Basic CAD drawing ability is required.

Strong math skills and the ability to build accurate quotes, calculate costs, and verify invoices.

Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, active listening, and problem-solving skills.

Comfort working with accounting and business software; QuickBooks and Microsoft Office experience are helpful.

High school diploma or GED required.
