Inspector- Workplace Safety & Health (WSH)

Summary
Conducts workplace safety inspections, audits, and investigations to ensure compliance with WSH regulations, prepares reports, and liaises with stakeholders.
Designation : Inspector
Location : Bendemeer
Working hours : 44 hours in a week.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct workplace inspections and audits in accordance with SOPs and WSH legislation.
- Prepare for inspections by reviewing workplace information and previous inspection records.
- Inspect workplaces, interview personnel, assess working conditions, and collect relevant evidence.
- Identify areas of non-compliance and recommend or carry out follow-up actions.
- Prepare and submit inspection/investigation reports within prescribed timelines.
- Update inspection findings in the Authority's system and maintain accurate records.
- Liaise with employers, occupiers, and relevant stakeholders on inspection outcomes.
- Provide administrative support, including data entry and report compilation.
- Attend meetings, interviews, and court proceedings when required.
Professional Qualifications
Must possess one of the following:
- Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety & Health (WSQ); or
- MSc in Safety, Health & Environment Technology (NUS); or
- Bachelor qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety / Human Factors in Safety / Health, Safety & Environment / Safety, Health & Environmental Management from recognized universities.
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Strong communication, analytical, report writing, and interpersonal skills.
Additional Requirements (For Risk Management Audit & Training Provider Inspections)
- Audit experience is preferred.
- Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with the Ministry of Manpower is preferred.
