Installation Associate I

Summary

Travels to client sites across North America to install fall-safety rail systems on commercial rooftops, using power tools and forklifts, and performs general labor in the Chanhassen production facility.

Safety Rail Company is looking for candidates interested in travel and installation of fall safety protection systems on commercial facility rooftops throughout North America.

This is a full-time, year-round position with overtime opportunities.

*Candidates must be based in the Minneapolis, MN area.

Responsibilities:

  • Our installation teams travel throughout North America to client sites for installations. Safety Rail pays all travel related expenses.
  • Unloading pallets and equipment from trucks with a variety of sized forklifts.
  • Working with power tools to assemble fall protection at various heights on rooftops installing rails into bases, assembling cross overs and gates and installing permanent ladders.
  • When not scheduled to be traveling for an installation job, you will be scheduled to work in our production facility in Chanhassen, MN to support our production department and maintain full-time status. This work involves general labor duties.
  • Must be willing and flexible to travel as needed by air and car 2-3 weeks each month.
  • Must possess valid TSA approved documents to travel by air as well as for entry on any federal premises.
  • Basic construction skills using hand tools such as drill, tape measure, band saw etc.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional, safe, and businesslike manner.
  • This is a safety sensitive position:
    1. Stringent adherence to Safety Rail’s, customer policies and safety requirements on each installation
    2. Must be able to perform work duties on high rooftops (with harnesses) and deal with cold or hot weather depending on the season.
    3. Must be able to lift heavy objects (100+ lbs.) and other physical demands as required.
    4. Successful completion of pre-employment background check, full panel drug screening, physical and work simulation.
    5. This position is subject to ongoing non-DOT Drug and Alcohol policy during employment.
    6. Must be able to bend, stoop, sit, walk, twist, stand, and climb a ladder.
    7. Being able to adapt and overcome various situations while safely following OSHA policies.
    8. Complete the necessary training requirements provided by Safety Rail (OSHA 10, Leading-Edge, Forklift, etc.)
  • The ability to use mobile devices for time keeping, daily reports, job reports, safety assessments, etc. Must have a smartphone with active service.
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Reliable attendance.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
