Installation Technician

Mechanically support the installation of material handling systems. This includes but is not limited to assembling and securing the equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities

· Meets acceptable attendance, time/work standards

· Keep accurate and complete expense reports on a weekly basis

· Drill holes in concrete floor, install anchors and secure equipment

· Route and fasten conveyor belts through roller conveyor with little instruction

· Able to remove and set conveyor rollers

· Keep work area clean and organized

· Follow all workplace rules and safety guidelines

· Follow written and verbal instructions from the Crew Lead or Level A Installer

· Perform other duties as assigned

· Conveyor knowledge progression (able to identify different equipment)

· Unstack and place conveyor to zero line

· Square conveyor

· Install air lines based on drawings

· Understand functions of a solenoid (in and out ports)

· Able to identify general electrical and mechanical parts

· Proficient in shop math

· Obtain fork truck license

· Understanding of basic electrical theory

· Able to use hot stick to determine voltage presence

· Able to use voltmeter to measure voltage and OHMS (continuity) with guidance if needed

· Able to run conduit and operate tube bender (basic bends: 90’s, offsets, 3-point saddles)

· Able to make wire pulls and connections as well as install general electrical components (solenoids, photo-eyes, ect.)

· Able to layout and install basic infeed’s and dischargers per drawings

Education & Experience

· High school diploma or GED

Technical Skills/Working Knowledge

· Able to read a tape measure accurately to the 1/16th of an inch

· Able to identify and use basic mechanical hand tools

o Standard and metric open end and box wrenches

o Adjustable wrench/adjustable pliers

o Ratchet and sockets

o Sledgehammer

o Speed square/framing square

o Tubing cutter

· Able to identify and use basic electrical hand tools:

o Phillips and flat head screw drivers

o Termination/control screwdriver

o Side cutters/dykes

o Wire strippers

Able to identify and use basic power tools:

o Portable band saw

o SDS rotary hammer drill

o Reciprocating saw/ saws all

· Basic understanding of electrical drawings

· Basic understanding of 3-phase circuits

· Basic understanding of control circuits

· Working knowledge of pneumatic systems, including installation, start up and mechanical troubleshooting

Work Environment

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities

· Must be able to work the mandatory hours and weekends as required

· Ability to travel on a frequent basis to project sites within the US.

· Must be able to perform repetitive bending, lifting, working on knees and floor

· Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs
