Position Overview
Kendrix is seeking a skilled Installation Technician to support our field operations team. This role is ideal for a technician who is comfortable working independently on installations, understands best practices in electronic security systems, and can support junior technicians onsite when required.
While this is not a senior leadership position, the successful candidate will be trusted to manage assigned tasks with minimal supervision, troubleshoot technical challenges, and contribute to overall project quality, timelines, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Execution & Installation (Primary Functions)

Follow all company standards, procedures, and safety protocols
Independently install and support:

CCTV systems
Intrusion alarm systems
Analogue and VoIP intercom systems
Structured cabling
EMT, PVC, and Wiremold conduit
Magnetic locks and electric strikes
Automatic door and gate controls

Perform system integration including:

Intrusion systems integrated with access control
CCTV systems integrated with access control

Complete software installation, configuration, and system upgrades
Work safely from ladders, scissor lifts, and boom lifts
Attend job‑site meetings as required
Coordinate work with other trades on active construction sites
Perform networking‑related tasks including:

LAN / WAN setup
DHCP, TCP/IP networking
Basic router configuration including port forwarding

Complete job-site documentation, including:

Work orders
Test and commissioning reports
Deficiency and close‑out documentation

Maintain, clean, organized and professional job sites
Adhere strictly to health and safety requirements

Team Support & Collaboration

Provide guidance and technical assistance to junior installation technicians
Support senior technicians and project managers on complex installations
Participate in scheduled on‑call support rotation as required
Communicate effectively with internal teams and clients to ensure scope and quality expectations are met

Qualifications & Experience

3+ years of relevant experience in electronic security or low‑voltage installations
Fluent in English (verbal and written)
Ability to read and interpret electrical and system drawings
Strong understanding of electronic security devices and troubleshooting techniques
Experience using power tools including hammer drills, grinders, and cutting tools
Proficient with test equipment including: Multimeters, network testers and scanners
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for basic data import/export
Ability to work efficiently and meet project deadlines
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Comfortable working at heights
