Instructional Designer
Summary
Entry- to mid-level instructional designer who builds interactive eLearning courses, microcontent, and videos that turn complex automotive compliance topics into engaging training. Works with SMEs using Articulate 360 (Storyline/Rise), multimedia editing, and adult learning principles.
Position Description:
The Training Developer is responsible for designing and delivering compelling online training programs that simplify complex, technical, and compliance-driven subject matter. This role partners closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), other members of KPA’s Training & Content Team, and various stakeholders to translate regulatory and technical content into engaging, effective learning experiences.
This professional brings entry-level to mid-level experience in instructional design and eLearning development, infusing creativity, applying adult learning principles, and leveraging modern learning technologies. This individual is resourceful, detail-oriented, and proficient with training development tools such as Articulate 360 (Storyline/Rise) or similar platforms.
Key Responsibilities:

Build interactive online training courses, microcontent training, and promotional videos to engage learners in the automotive industry and adjacent markets on compliance topics.

Assist with multimedia production for training, such as audio, video, and image editing.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously; meet deadlines while maintaining high quality.

Demonstrate willingness to learn from others and to receive and implement feedback and direction.

Work collaboratively with the Training & Content Team to produce modern and effective training.

Assist the team with administrative and organizational tasks as needed, such as filing and documentation.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, communications design, or related field.

1.5+ years’ experience in instructional design, learning and development, communication design, multimedia, or training video production.

Proficiency with eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate 360 (Storyline and Rise) or comparable platforms.

Experience designing interactive online learning, including scenario-based training and simulations.

Good collaboration and communication skills when working with SMEs and cross-functional teams.

Creative problem-solving and the ability to design engaging learning solutions within constraints.

Familiarity with eLearning standards such as SCORM or xAPI.

Experience with AI tools, filming, and/or editing is not required, but is a significant plus.
Location:
Compensation:
- Annual base compensation range between $65-70k commensurate with experience.
- Bonus potential up to 10% annually
