SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to: Serve in a key staff professional position as the top education and senior adviser to the commanding officer and staff of a United States Air Force (USAF) technical service school. Provides leadership, advice, expertise, and guidance throughout their organization in the areas of instructional systems design, development, sustainment, training operations and management, organization and staffing, and student programming and administration in support of Department of Defense (DoD) military training programs. Also, provides technical and administrative supervision to a limited number of staff (typically less than five positions with at least one civilian), duties requiring less than 25% of work time. DUTIES: Serves as the top education advisor and senior management consultant to the commanding officer and staff of a major technical service school. Provides advice in formulating the broad educational and training policies of the technical service school and directs or leads broad studies that affect command and USAF missions. Represents the technical service school with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Provides technical and administrative supervision to a limited number of staff (typically less than five positions with at least one civilian), requiring less than 25% of work time.
