POSITION SUMMARY


Instructors will provide professional military education instruction to officers in the US Air Force and other services in development and implementation of national military strategy and national security. In almost all cases, instruction will be delivered online. Upon hiring, instructors will be required to complete initial faculty development instruction and other requirements to be identified by the Air Force Global College (AFGC). The AFGC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and provides competent contractor and government faculty qualified to accomplish the organization’s goals and mission.

PROFESSIONAL (OPERATIONAL) QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant professional operational experience in National Security affairs and activities.
  • Completion of Intermediate Developmental Education (IDE) and/or Senior Developmental Education. Resident completion preferred, but not required.
  • JPME Phase I and/or Phase II

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s or Terminal degree in Political Science, Public Policy, US Government, Public Administration, Military History, National Security, Global Security, or a closely related field.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Assignments supporting the National Security Council, Air Staff, Joint Staff, and/or a Combatant Command Staff.
  • Service as a Foreign Affairs/Foreign Service Officer, Political Advisor, and/or Defense Attache.
  • Other related experiences will be considered.
  • Prior online teaching experience (military or civilian) is a strong plus.
