Instrument Person North
Summary
Assists a survey crew by setting up equipment, marking points, and recording measurements in the field.
American Engineering is seeking an Instrument Person works with the Survey Crew to mark surveying points and
takes notes on the data collected to ensure all necessary areas are marked appropriately.
3. RESPONSIBLITIES:
a. Prepares survey truck tools and materials every morning before the crew heads out.
b. Assist in the setting up of survey equipment, such as total stations and GPS units.
c. Carry and position survey rods, stakes and other equipment needed to assist with
measurements.
d. Helps with clearing of area to create clear lines of sight.
e. Records measurements and observations as directed by Party Chief or Instrument Person.
f. Place markers, stakes, or flags to identify boundaries, elevations, or construction layouts.
g. Follow supervisor instructions and perform tasks in a timely and safe manner.
h. Maintain and organize tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working conditions.
i. Operate hand tools and power tools as needed.
j. Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
k. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
l. Perform other duties as required by site management safely.
