Instrumentation & Controls Engineer Intern or Co-Op (Spring 2027)
Responsibilities
- Complete calculations of limited complexity, with supervision as needed; may include control valve and flow meter sizing
- Develop and maintain block and loop drawings
- Provide support with instrument specifications
- Assist experienced Instrumentation & Controls Engineers with their activities as requested
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree (or equivalent education) in Chemical or Electrical Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university
- Ability to work within diverse teams assembled from Nexus, clients, and others
- Effective communication skills in order to convey ideas is a must
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and Word
- Seeks feedback to improve performance
- Familiar with AutoCAD, or other drafting software a plus
Potential Experiences
- Gain an understanding of the business and engineering work flow in a consulting firm
- Prepare instrument specifications and request quotes from vendors
- Learn about process safety and its importance in the design and operation of our clients’ facilities
- Exposure to and application of industry codes and standards related to the instrumentation and controls discipline
