Insulation Estimator (58207)
Core Insulation Contractors LLC, an IR Pros company, is seeking an experienced Estimator to support industrial insulation, commercial insulation, and firestopping projects.
This is a fully remote position reporting to the Estimating Manager and President – Industrial Division. The Estimator will be responsible for reviewing project documents, completing accurate material and labor takeoffs, verifying current pricing, and preparing competitive estimates and bid packages for a variety of projects.
Project types may include industrial piping, ductwork, tanks, commercial HVAC, plumbing systems, and firestopping applications.
Essential Technical Skills
The ideal candidate will have strong technical estimating skills, including:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, plans, specifications, and insulation schedules
- Experience completing digital takeoffs and calculating material and labor requirements
- Knowledge of commercial and industrial insulation systems
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Understanding of applicable building codes, project specifications, and industry standards
- Ability to obtain, review, and compare vendor and subcontractor pricing
- Experience preparing complete and competitive bid packages
- Ability to review addenda, revisions, exclusions, scope changes, and change orders
- Experience maintaining accurate estimating databases and current material/labor pricing
- Familiarity with estimating software; experience with MIKE (Mechanical Insulation Key Estimator) by Comput-Ability, Inc. is strongly preferred
- Experience with Visual Takeoff (VTO) or similar digital takeoff software preferred
