Pay: $130,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year

Location: Chicago, IL. This is a flexible hybrid opportunity that combines remote work with collaborative time in our Chicago office.

Note: Candidates should have 3+ years of relevant attorney experience. Insurance coverage experience is preferred, but attorneys with comparable civil litigation experience are encouraged to apply. Candidates must have strong legal writing and analytical skills and be willing to provide a writing sample; professional references may also be requested.

• Analyze complex insurance policies and first-party property coverage issues
• Prepare thoughtful coverage opinions and strategic recommendations for clients
• Handle matters from pre-suit coverage analysis through litigation and resolution
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other persuasive legal documents
• Conduct and defend depositions and participate in discovery
• Represent clients in mediations and other dispute-resolution proceedings
• Develop litigation and coverage strategies alongside experienced attorneys
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding coverage issues, case strategy, and developments
• Manage multiple matters while responding effectively to time-sensitive client needs

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant legal experience
• Insurance coverage dispute experience preferred
• Comparable civil litigation experience will be considered
• Experience with policy analysis, coverage opinions, pleadings, motions, depositions, or mediations is highly valued
• Exceptional legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management abilities
• Detail-oriented approach and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Collaborative, team-first mindset
• Willingness to provide a writing sample
