Integrated Services Paraprofessional
Description
Mountain Sage Community School, a Waldorf-inspired public charter school serving grades K–8, is seeking an experienced Integrated Services Paraprofessional to join our special education team for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a specialized role for someone who has worked directly with students with IEPs and is confident supporting learning, behavioral, and social-emotional needs within a general education classroom. If you bring hands-on special education experience, steady behavior support skills, and a belief that every child belongs in the classroom community, we would love to hear from you.
About the Role
The Integrated Services Paraprofessional works under the direction of our special education staff and related service providers to support students with identified learning, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. Support happens primarily inside the general education setting, through one-on-one, small group, and push-in support.
This role calls for someone who can implement IEP goals and behavior intervention plans with consistency, collect reliable data, stay calm and regulated during challenging moments, and partner closely with classroom teachers. At Mountain Sage, these supports are woven into a holistic, Waldorf-inspired day that values rhythm, movement, the arts, and time outdoors.

- Implement IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications as directed by the special education team
- Deliver targeted academic and social-emotional interventions with fidelity
- Adapt instructional materials and activities so students with disabilities, English language learners, and students needing social-emotional support can fully participate
- Support students with personal care, mobility, or sensory needs as outlined in their plans
Behavior and regulation
- Use proactive, positive behavior strategies and consistent routines to support self-regulation
- Respond calmly and safely to escalated behavior, following de-escalation and crisis protocols
- Support restorative practices and a positive classroom climate
Data and progress monitoring
- Collect accurate, ongoing data on IEP goals and behavior (e.g., frequency, duration, ABC observations)
- Maintain progress notes and share observations with case managers to inform instruction and IEP meetings
Collaboration
- Partner daily with classroom teachers, special education staff, and related service providers (speech, OT, counseling)
- Help communicate student progress and needs to families, in coordination with the case manager
- Maintain strict confidentiality of student information
Safety and supervision
- Supervise students during transitions, recess, arrival/dismissal, and outdoor learning
- Follow school safety and emergency protocols
Compensation and Hours
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM; Friday during the academic school year
- Pay starts at $21.00/hour, with placement above the starting rate based on special education experience and relevant certifications (e.g., RBT, CPI)
Outdoor Learning Environment
Mountain Sage values learning in all four seasons. This role includes time outdoors through recess, nature walks, and experiential learning. Applicants should enjoy working outside and be comfortable supporting students, including those who need close support, in a variety of weather conditions.
