Orbit is seeking a hands-on and highly motivated R&D Integration Engineer to join our Airborne SATCOM development team. The successful candidate will play a key role in integrating, testing, troubleshooting, and validating advanced airborne satellite communication systems throughout the product development lifecycle.

Working closely with System, RF, Hardware, Software, Mechanical, and Verification teams, the Integration Engineer will ensure that complex multidisciplinary systems operate according to requirements and are ready for qualification, production, and customer deployment.

This position is ideal for a practical engineer with strong technical skills, a passion for troubleshooting, and a desire to work on cutting-edge airborne communication technologies.

Responsibilites

System Integration

  • Integrate SATCOM subsystems including RF, digital, power, networking, and control components.
  • Perform system bring-up activities on prototypes and engineering development units.
  • Configure and verify hardware and software components for testing and validation.

Testing & Verification

  • Execute integration, functional, environmental, and performance tests.
  • Support ATP, qualification, and acceptance testing activities.
  • Analyze test results and generate test reports.

Troubleshooting

  • Investigate system failures and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Work with multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve hardware, software, RF, and system-level issues.
  • Support corrective actions and design improvements based on test findings.

Lab & Equipment Management

  • Use measurement equipment including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, power meters, oscilloscopes, and communication test equipment.
  • Support development of automated test tools and procedures.

Documentation

  • Create and maintain integration procedures, test plans, test reports, and troubleshooting documentation.
  • Ensure all integration activities are properly documented and traceable.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with System, RF, Hardware, Software, Mechanical and Operations teams.
  • Support design reviews, qualification activities, and customer demonstrations as required.

Requirements

  • Practical Engineer (Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Communications, or a related field).
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in system integration, testing, or troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary electronic systems.
  • Familiarity with RF, networking, embedded systems, or communication systems.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
