Intelligence Operations Specialist (CI)

This vacancy is for a GS-0132-13, Intelligence Operations Specialist (CI) located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, CG COUNTERINTELLIGENCE OPS and INVESTIGATIONS DIV -CGCIS O and I in WASHINGTON, District of Columbia.

You will serve as the CGCIS Counterintelligence Special Agent assigned to the Joint CI Training Activity (JCITA, Quantico, VA, whose mission is to enforce policy and to execute the mission of the CGCIS and serving as CGCIS' instructor at JCITA . Typical work assignments include: Representing CGCIS at JCITA and training students attending various JCITA courses. Conducting CI collection, operations, and investigations at the direction of the Region East Supervisory Agent and Region Chief of Operations and Investigations. Providing CI support to foreign travelers and to commands hosting foreign visitors. Ensuring CI requirements are incorporated into strategic and operation debriefings. Providing CI support to CG anti-terrorism/force protections missions. Providing direct CI support to subordinate units or the District command staff to include deployment, site visits or liaison.

This position requires a current CI Scope polygraph or pre-employment polygraph if out of scope per joint agency requirements. NOTE: This position is designated as a key position. In the event of a crisis situation, war, or mobilization, the incumbent must continue to perform the duties to support mission requirements. A member of the Ready Reserve may not fill the position on a permanent basis. If filled by a member of the Ready Reserve, appropriate action must be undertaken to change the incumbent's reserve status to a status other than that of Ready Reserve. The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
