Intelligence Operations Specialist

This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Intelligence & Analysis (I&A). The assignment involves problem definition, resolution, planning and coordination with numerous Federal, State, Local, Tribal, Territorial and Private Sector partners. The incumbent executes a wide range of relationship building, intelligence and information sharing, field-based collection, reporting and supports analytic production. Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.

As a Intelligence Operations Specialist, GS-0132-14, your typical work assignments may include: Leads, plans, organizes, and directs all intelligence analysis and production functions with a specific geographic location region ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Serves as a senior intelligence analyst. Applies analytic expertise to direct analysis of DHS-derived data for use in all-source finished intelligence products to guide homeland security and resiliency efforts of SLTT, private sector, DHS, and federal civilian customers. Serves as a subject matter expert on Intelligence Community analytic tradecraft standards, structured analytic techniques, and practical application of analytical techniques. Initiates, drives, personally drafts, and develops, and aids DHS I&A Intelligence Officers to develop sophisticated all-source finished intelligence analysis, and other forms of information sharing deliverables across a wide spectrum of threat streams focused on the Homeland and within the purview of the organization. Prepares and analyzes reports, responses to queries, justifications, and background papers on technical aspects of areas of expertise and assignments. Prepares and presents high level briefings for a variety of state, local, tribal, territorial and private sector partners, tailoring briefings to customer needs. Conveys complex homeland security information. Develops and expands collaboration and partnerships with counterparts and colleagues across the intelligence, homeland security and law enforcement communities to develop intelligence production and information sharing relationships.
