Interim Head of Programme Communication and Engagement

You will lead and evolve programme communications strategy, narrative frameworks, editorial standards, and operating models. You will manage a team, advise senior leaders on reputation and positioning, coordinate communications across programmes, and lead communications for a designated programme and AI in Science.

Responsibilities

• Co-develop and evolve programme communications strategy and narrative frameworks
• Lead and develop a team of Programme Communications Managers and contractors
• Set communications standards, processes, and resource allocation practices
• Shape editorial and channel strategy for programme stories, milestones, launches, and announcements
• Advise Programme Directors and leadership on reputational risks, positioning, and framing
• Develop training, guidance, and materials to improve Communications and Programme team collaboration
• Feed programme insight into broader communications, media, events, and policy positioning
• Lead strategic communications for a designated programme and contribute to AI in Science strategy

Requirements

• Proven experience developing programme communications strategies and narrative frameworks
• Experience leading, managing, and developing communications teams and contractors
• Experience setting cross-functional operational standards and managing resources
• Senior communications judgement advising C-suite or programme leadership on complex risks and strategic positioning
• Ability to operate autonomously and build scalable solutions
• High editorial standards and meticulous attention to detail
