THE POSITION
We are seeking an Interior Designer with experience in multifamily, senior living, commercial, renovation, and new construction projects. Reporting to the Senior Interior Designer, this role will support the selection, specification, and coordination of interior finishes, fixtures, lighting, plumbing, and FF&E.
The Interior Designer will work closely with ownership, construction teams, architects, contractors, and vendors to develop practical, budget-conscious design solutions that balance aesthetics, functionality, durability, and maintenance requirements. Responsibilities include plan review, finish and FF&E specifications, model unit and common area design, procurement coordination, and project support through installation and completion.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects while collaborating effectively with both design and construction teams. Experience in multifamily housing, senior living, or developer-led projects is strongly preferred.
Annual Compensation: $90,000 - $125,000 depending on experience
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Source, and specify furniture, finishes, fixtures, textiles, color palettes, decorative lighting, plumbing fixtures, and interior/exterior finish selections.
- Create mood boards, finish boards, specification schedules to convey the overall design intent. Draft furniture plans, finish plans, elevations, cabinet layouts, and other interior details.
- Review architectural plans, verify site dimensions, provide input during plan checks and RFI’s, and coordinate with architects, contractors, vendors, purchasing teams, and consultants.
- Travel to project sites and verify installations meet approved design documents and quality standards.
- Develop furniture, décor, artwork, and accessory packages for model units, leasing offices, clubhouses, amenity spaces, and common areas.
- Coordinate model unit installations, including furniture delivery, staging, vendor scheduling, and final presentation.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Interior Design and/or 3–5 years of professional interior design experience.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and specialized procurement software (e.g., Ivy, Studio Designer, Programa or Gather).
- Organized, flexible, self-motivated, and able to work independently while also enjoying collaboration with a team.
- Experience with FF&E specifications, procurement, and installation.
- Ability to present design concepts and selections clearly to ownership.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working for a developer, builder, architectural firm, or owner-focused organization is preferred.
- Understanding of construction documents, value engineering, procurement, budgeting, and project coordination for multifamily, senior living, and commercial projects.
- Familiarity with renovation and new construction projects, including finish standardization, unit turns, common area renovations, and amenity spaces.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to lift and mobilize small to medium items up to 50 pounds maximum.
