Interior Design / Renovation Designer

We are looking for an experienced Interior Designer with strong end-to-end project ownership capabilities. You will independently manage the full interior renovation process, from understanding client requirements and developing design concepts to material selection, site coordination, and final project implementation.

The ideal candidate should be able to deliver aesthetic, functional, practical, and cost-effective interior solutions while balancing design quality, budget, timelines, and construction feasibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage clients closely to understand their requirements, budget, lifestyle needs, and aesthetic preferences, and provide professional and practical design recommendations.

• Develop comprehensive interior design concepts, including design direction, space planning, materials, colour schemes, lighting, soft furnishings, and detailed specifications.

• Research, select, specify, and manage brands and products for materials, hardware, lighting, sanitaryware, customised furniture, and other interior elements based on project requirements.

• Balance design quality, project budget, timelines, and construction feasibility, while continuously identifying opportunities for cost optimisation and improved project efficiency.

• Work closely with clients, sales teams, project managers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure effective communication, resolve issues, and drive projects through to completion.

• Review construction drawings, material samples, and on-site implementation to ensure the final execution meets the approved design standards.

• Identify and resolve design-related issues arising during construction and provide practical solutions to minimise delays and rework.

• Keep up to date with market trends, innovative materials, design developments, and supplier resources, and continuously improve design standards and cost-control strategies.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Environmental Design, Architecture, or a related discipline.

• At least 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in interior design and renovation; experience in commercial renovation projects will be an advantage.

• Demonstrated ability to independently manage projects from initial concept and design through to on-site implementation and completion.

• Strong client-facing and communication skills, with the ability to translate unclear or broad client requirements into clear, practical, and executable design solutions.

• Strong commercial and cost awareness, with the ability to optimise budgets and material selections without compromising key design requirements.

• Detail-oriented, responsible, and highly execution-focused, with strong coordination and problem-solving abilities.

• Familiarity with Singapore's local renovation processes, commonly used materials, suppliers, contractors, and relevant industry requirements will be an advantage.

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin is preferred, as the role will involve communication with Mandarin-speaking clients and stakeholders.
