We are looking for an Intermediate Java Developer tojoin a professional services development team, supporting enterprise softwaredevelopment and integration projects within a large telecommunicationsenvironment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing,testing, deploying and supporting software solutions, with a strong focus on Java/J2EE,Spring, Apache Camel, SQL, system integration and enterprise databases . Therole requires a hands-on developer who can translate business and technicalrequirements into reliable software solutions and provide ongoing productionsupport.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, build and maintain reliable andeffective software solutions using Java/J2EE, Spring, Apache Camel andassociated technologies.
• Translate business and technical requirementsinto appropriate application designs, data models and structures.
• Develop solutions using Oracle, MSSQL, MySQLand PostgreSQL databases.
• Write complex, efficient and optimised SQLqueries to support application and data requirements.
• Work with Oracle PL/SQL and APEX whererequired.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs andenterprise systems.
• Support software integration using technologiessuch as RabbitMQ and ActiveMQ .
• Deploy, install and configure software releasesacross relevant environments.
• Utilise Git for version control andcollaborative development.
• Work with Docker and Kubernetes forapplication deployment and containerisation.
• Utilise Linux/Bash for scripting, systemadministration and server-related tasks.
• Conduct software testing in accordance withdefined specifications and project requirements.
• Develop and execute integration testspecifications and document test results and failures.
• Conduct FAT, UAT and system integrationtesting and produce relevant reports and documentation.
• Use tools such as Postman to test APIsand application functionality.
• Troubleshoot, debug and resolve softwaredefects, integration issues and production incidents.
• Provide technical support and assist withresolving software-related issues.
• Support software solutions post-implementation,including bug fixing and production support.
• Document software solutions, systems,configurations and technical processes.
• Participate in quality reviews, code reviews andtesting activities.
• Work closely with development andcross-functional teams to deliver project requirements.
• Apply sound SDLC principles throughoutthe software development lifecycle.
• Accurately estimate development effort anddelivery timeframes.
• Continuously develop technical knowledge andremain up to date with relevant technologies, frameworks and industry trends.
• Participate in workshops, conferences,cross-functional initiatives and projects as required.
• IT Degree or Diploma or relevant tertiaryqualification.
• 5+ years' relevant Java developmentexperience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java/J2EE .
• In-depth knowledge of:
  • SpringFramework
  • ApacheCamel
  • J2EEcontainers and web servers
  • SQLand relational databases
• Experience with Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL and/orPostgreSQL .
• Strong working experience with RabbitMQand/or ActiveMQ .
