Intermediate SOC Analyst

About the role

We’re looking for an intermediate SOC Analyst to join a global security team, helping detect, investigate and respond to cyber threats. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone ready to take greater responsibility for investigations, support junior analysts and contribute to improvements in security operations.

You'll work across modern security platforms, investigating suspicious activity and working closely with technical teams to contain and resolve incidents. Alongside day-to-day monitoring and response, you'll help improve detections, refine playbooks and build the team's capability.

Key responsibilities

• Monitoring and investigating security alerts across SIEM, EDR/XDR and other security tools.

• Analysing network, application and system data to identify threats and unusual activity.

• Leading investigations and supporting incident response, containment and remediation.

• Documenting findings and maintaining clear incident reports.

• Identifying gaps in detection and response, and contributing to continuous improvement.

• Providing guidance and support to junior analysts.

About you

• Proven experience in a SOC or cyber security operations role, with the confidence to investigate incidents and make sound decisions under pressure.

• Practical experience with SIEM, EDR/XDR and cloud security platforms.

• Strong incident investigation and response skills.

• An understanding of network traffic, TCP/IP, operating systems and security hardening.

• Clear communication skills and a collaborative, adaptable approach.

• Curiosity, initiative and a willingness to share your knowledge.

• Experience with SOAR, web application firewalls or NDR, scripting skills in Python or PowerShell, and relevant security certifications would be useful.

Roster and on-call requirements

This role follows a four days on, four days off roster. The roster operates Monday to Sunday and includes weekend work. Participation in on-call support is also required.
