Intermediate Software Engineer - backend & cloud
About the role
Prism Earth is seeking an Intermediate Software Engineer - Backend & Cloud to develop and maintain the backend services, cloud infrastructure, and data pipelines that support our growing product suite. Working with C#/.NET, PostgreSQL, AWS, Python, ECS, Lambda, SQS and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), you'll build secure, scalable, and reliable solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional customer outcomes. This role is ideal for a developer with at least two years of commercial experience who is ready to take the next step in their backend and cloud engineering career.
Key responsibilities
Design, development, testing, and maintenance of scalable backend applications, APIs, and integrations using modern software engineering practices
Build and operate cloud-native and event-driven solutions on AWS, including serverless, containerised, and message-based architectures using infrastructure as code
Development and optimisation of data-processing workflows, databases, and integrations using PostgreSQL, Python, C#, and AWS services or similar such tools
Ensure systems are secure, reliable, and maintainable through automated testing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement
About you
Ability to work across backend code, databases, cloud services, and data-processing workflows
Proven ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
Willingness to learn new technology and apply that learning immediately
Strong ability to analyse, debug and resolve complex technical and data issues
High degree of initiative
