Intermediate Systems Administrator

Location: Quantico, VA (Government site)
Required Clearance: Active TS/SCI
Certifications: Cloud+ CE, Server+ CE, and/or Security+ CE, as applicable
Required Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent specialized experience may be considered.
Required Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of specialized Federal or DoW system administration experience involving server, virtualization, storage, and backup platforms.
Position Description

Ailani Wind Joint Venture is seeking an Intermediate Systems Administrator to administer and sustain on-premises computing environments supporting NIPR, SIPR, SAP, and AFSCI missions. The administrator supports servers, storage, virtualization, identity services, enterprise applications, and backup and recovery platforms.
This position monitors availability and performance, implements approved changes, supports cloud migration activities, and executes backup, restoration, business continuity, disaster recovery, and continuity of operations procedures
.
Primary Responsibilities

Typical Responsibilities/Tasks:
• Administer Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers, enterprise applications, and supporting infrastructure across authorized environments.
• Operate and maintain SAN, NAS, cloud-storage, and other enterprise storage services.
• Provision, configure, monitor, right-size, and sustain virtual machines and VMware or comparable virtualization platforms.
• Monitor Active Directory, DHCP, authentication services, application health, capacity, utilization, and system performance.
• Install approved patches, configuration changes, security controls, and software releases using established change-management procedures.
• Administer Commvault or comparable backup platforms; schedule and monitor backups and perform and document restoration tests.
• Investigate system incidents and performance degradation, determine root causes, implement corrective actions, and document results.
• Support migration of workloads, applications, data, and services to approved cloud environments.
• Develop, maintain, and execute backup/restoral, business continuity, disaster recovery, and continuity of operations procedures and exercises.
• Maintain system inventories, architecture diagrams, build records, standard operating procedures, and configuration baselines.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity, network, application, service desk, and Government stakeholders to sustain mission availability.

Required Qualifications

• Expert-level knowledge of Red Hat/Linux and Windows server administration, VMware or comparable virtualization, and Commvault or comparable backup platforms.
• Expert-level knowledge of backup and recovery, business continuity, disaster recovery, and continuity of operations concepts and practices.
• Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-34, NIST SP 800-209, and applicable DAF and AFOSI COOP requirements.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex server, storage, virtualization, authentication, application, and performance issues.
• Ability to implement secure configurations, maintain accurate technical documentation, and operate within formal change-control processes.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in classified Federal and DoW environments.

Desired Qualifications

• RHCSA or higher Red Hat certification.
• Microsoft Windows Server administration certification.
• VMware Certified Professional or comparable virtualization certification.
• Commvault certification and experience performing enterprise recovery exercises.
• Experience supporting DAF or AFOSI mission systems and cloud migration initiatives.

Salary Range

$68K -94K
