Intermediate TO Senior Software Engineer
Summary
Intermediate-to-senior engineer building and modernising scalable software for banking and insurance organisations, translating business requirements into maintainable applications. Core stack: C# or Java (ASP.NET Core / Spring Boot), Python, relational databases with Entity Framework, and cloud-native DevOps on AWS/Azure with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD.
An exciting opportunity is available for an Intermediate to Senior C# Developer to contribute to innovative technology solutions within the banking and insurance industry. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of software engineering and financial services, developing solutions that help organisations modernise systems, improve processes and tackle complex business challenges.
This role is suited to a developer with strong technical foundations, a structured approach to problem-solving and the ability to translate business requirements into efficient, scalable and maintainable applications.
Your skills and expertise:
- 6+ years of software engineering, with production software designed and delivered at scale.
- Strong foundation in software engineering and expert proficiency in C# or Java (either is preferred), or a similar statically typed language.
- A degree in computer science, engineering or a related field is a plus; demonstrable expertise matters most.
- Deep understanding of design patterns and architectural principles, and the ability to write clean, maintainable, efficient code.
- REST API design and build with ASP.NET Core / Web API or Spring Boot.
- Strong Python and solid web framework experience.
- Relational database experience (SQL Server, Azure SQL, AWS RDS or Postgres), Entity Framework, and sound data modelling.
- DevOps fluency: CI/CD tooling to streamline build and delivery, plus infrastructure as code, Docker, Kubernetes (EKS or AKS) and microservices architecture.
- Proven hands-on experience building distributed systems on AWS or Azure (GCP also valued). Cloud is central to how we build, and we expect Senior engineers to be strong in it.
- Full-stack exposure: front-end and back-end development.
