Step into a role where your expertise in water quality modelling directly supports sustainable mining solutions across Canada. You will join multidisciplinary teams delivering water quality assessments, hydrodynamic modelling, and environmental impact studies that help guide projects from feasibility through regulatory approval and mine closure. Your work will support informed decision-making, responsible resource development, and the protection of aquatic environments for future generations.

Your Impact

  • Develop and apply water quality and hydrodynamic models for lakes, reservoirs, pit lakes, rivers, and watershed systems.
  • Calibrate and validate models that support critical water management strategies and environmental decision-making.
  • Contribute to environmental impact assessments, baseline studies, and mine closure planning initiatives.
  • Analyze complex environmental datasets, including monitoring data and model outputs, to identify trends and inform recommendations.
  • Build and refine conceptual models through parameterization, scenario development, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports, figures, and regulatory submissions that support defensible outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated water management solutions for mining clients across Canada.
  • Support proposal development and engage with clients, regulators, Indigenous communities, and other stakeholders to advance project success.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • 5+ years of experience in water quality modelling, hydrodynamic modelling, or surface water assessments.
  • Degree in Environmental, Civil, Water Resources Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Eligible for registration or currently registered as an EIT or P.Eng. within a Canadian jurisdiction.
  • Experience using modelling platforms such as CE-QUAL-W2, MIKE3, GEMSS, WASP, GoldSim, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of surface water processes, aquatic ecosystems, and water quality dynamics.
  • Proficiency with environmental data analysis using Python, R, MATLAB, advanced Excel, or comparable platforms.
  • Experience supporting environmental monitoring programs and working with large, complex datasets.
  • Demonstrated technical writing abilities with a strong focus on quality assurance, quality control, and defensibility.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $80,800 - $107,00

MB & ON: $73,700 - $101,500

NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $73,000 - $96,900
