Intern Accounting and Finance

This is an entry-level position designed for candidates looking to gain hands-on experience while training for assigned accounting roles under direct supervision. As part of the team, you will develop essential job-related skills and gain exposure to key accounting functions within a growing organization.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in daily accounting activity entries for a portfolio of operating properties
• Prepare month-end closing journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
• Help prepare financial statements and month-end reporting packages
• Participate in the annual budgeting process
• Assist in preparing and reviewing bank reconciliations
• Review accounts payable in Yardi Payscan for accuracy and completeness

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting or a master’s degree in accounting
• Previous work experience in a financial or accounting environment is a plus
• Basic understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and tax basis of accounting
• Enthusiastic, flexible, and willing to take on new responsibilities and special projects
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to set goals, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines effectively
