Ltd., our Manufacturing Engineering and Customer Service teams work together to deliver high-quality products and exceptional customer satisfaction. In This Role:
As a Production/Manufacturing Engineering & Customer Service Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting both manufacturing operations and customer-focused initiatives within a dynamic production environment. You'll assist with process improvement projects, production analysis, order coordination, and customer support activities while collaborating with cross-functional teams. This internship is ideal for someone interested in manufacturing, engineering, operations, and developing a strong understanding of how customer requirements are translated into successful production outcomes.
So, what will you be doing as a Production/Manufacturing Engineering & Customer Service Intern?
- Support manufacturing engineers with process improvement initiatives designed to increase efficiency, quality, and productivity.
- Assist with collecting and analyzing production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Help monitor manufacturing processes and support implementation of standardized work practices.
- Participate in troubleshooting production issues and assist in identifying root causes and corrective actions.
- Support the preparation and maintenance of engineering documentation, process flows, work instructions, and reports.
- Assist with production planning and coordination activities to help ensure customer delivery commitments are met.
- Collaborate with Customer Service, Production, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to support order fulfillment and customer requirements.
- Help track customer orders, delivery schedules, and service metrics while providing updates to internal stakeholders.
- Assist in responding to customer inquiries regarding order status, product information, and delivery timelines.
- Support continuous improvement projects focused on enhancing manufacturing performance and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and dashboards related to operational and customer service performance.
- Observe and follow all company safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Interest in manufacturing operations, process improvement, and customer service.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer-focused mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work onsite at L&P Guangdong Zhaoqing L&V Co. Ltd. in Zhaoqing, China.
Things we consider a plus:
- Previous internship, project, or coursework experience in manufacturing, engineering, operations, customer service, or supply chain environments.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of production planning, workflow analysis, or process optimization concepts.
- Experience using ERP systems such as SAP or similar manufacturing software.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings, process documentation, or manufacturing equipment.
- Experience with data analysis, reporting, and performance metrics.
- Knowledge of customer service principles and order management processes.
- Experience with Power BI, Minitab, or other data visualization and reporting tools.
- Strong interest in manufacturing operations and customer relationship management.
