Intern, Instructional Design and Digital Learning (Winter 2027)
Our Team:
Reporting into the Change Management Office within Business & Information Solutions (BIS), you will support the design, development, and quality assurance of digital learning for enterprise technology adoption. This internship is intended for a graduate student in Education or Arts whose studies focus on adult learning, instructional design, educational technology, learning experience design, or digital learning.
The selected intern will apply evidence-informed learning principles to transform complex business and technical content into clear, accessible, and engaging learning experiences for adult learners.
What are your contributions to the team?
Conduct learning needs analysis with subject matter experts and business partners, and document learner, performance, and content requirements.
Design role-based and workflow-based learning solutions using adult learning principles and measurable learning objectives.
Create design documents, course outlines, storyboards, scripts, facilitator materials, job aids, assessments, and evaluation tools.
Develop and revise digital learning in Articulate 360, using approved templates and standards.
Transform technical source material, presentations, process documentation, and demonstrations into concise and engaging learning assets.
Apply accessibility, plain-language, visual design, and quality-assurance standards to learning products.
Coordinate reviews with subject matter experts, incorporate feedback, track approvals, and maintain version control.
Maintain training repositories, SharePoint content, learning asset libraries, and development trackers.
Contribute to continuous improvement of instructional design processes, templates, and digital learning standards.

How to thrive in this role?
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in Education or Arts, with a concentration or demonstrated coursework in instructional design, educational technology, adult education, learning experience design, curriculum and pedagogy, digital learning, or a closely related field.
- Strong academic or practical foundation in adult learning theory, instructional design models, learning objectives, assessment, and evaluation.
- Ability to synthesize complex information and write clear, learner- centered content in English. Proficiency in French is an asset.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deliverables and review cycles.
- Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders, ask effective questions, and incorporate feedback.
- Portfolio or work samples demonstrating instructional design, digital learning, curriculum design, or educational media.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Articulate 360, especially Rise 360 and Storyline 360. Equivalent digital learning tools will also be considered.

Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint.

Knowledge of accessibility practices for digital learning and familiarity with learning management systems.

Experience creating learning for technical, engineering, software, or organizational change contexts.
