Intern - Investment Research
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and intellectually curious Investment Analyst Intern to join our growing investment team for a structured 6-month internship. This programme is open to final-year students and recent graduates who are passionate about public markets and eager to develop their investment skills across multiple sectors —including technology, healthcare, consumer, financials, industrials, and energy.
You will work directly with senior portfolio managers and gain hands-on experience across the full investment process, from idea generation through to portfolio monitoring. Over the course of the 6-month internship, you will receive structured, progressive exposure to buy-side investment analysis within a dynamic, high-performance environment, with the potential to convert to a full-time role based on performance and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Analysis
• Assist in fundamental research and financial analysis on publicly listed equities across multiple sectors
• Support the development and maintenance of financial models (DCF, comparable company analysis, sum-of-the-parts) under senior guidance
• Synthesise macroeconomic trends, industry developments, and company-specific data to contribute to investment theses
• Help prepare structured investment memos and materials for the investment committee
Portfolio Monitoring
• Assist in monitoring portfolio positions, tracking financial performance, news flow, and key risk factors
• Help maintain and update valuation models with new earnings results and macro developments
• Flag key catalysts and emerging risks for portfolio holdings
Market Intelligence
• Track sector-specific developments, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics across covered markets
• Assist in building and maintaining a pipeline of investment ideas through proprietary research and market analysis
• Support engagement with company investor relations materials, industry reports, and sell-side research
Collaboration & Communication
• Collaborate with portfolio managers, risk, and operations teams on cross-functional tasks
• Prepare clear and concise summaries, commentary, and presentation materials for internal use
• Contribute to ESG integration, thematic research initiatives, and ad-hoc special projects
Technology & Systems
• Assist the technology team with the setup, testing, and maintenance of proprietary tools and trading systems
• Support the upkeep of internal databases and data infrastructure used for research and investment analysis
• Help evaluate and implement software tools relevant to valuation, portfolio analytics, and research workflows
Qualifications & Experience
Eligibility
• Must be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Must be available to commit to the full 6-monthinternship period on a full-time basis
Education
• Currently pursuing, or recently completed, a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline
• Minimum CFA Level I candidate (passed or actively registered/preparing); progress towards further levels is an advantage
• Strong academic record with demonstrated interest in financial markets and investing
Experience
• No prior full-time work experience required; prior internships in equity research, asset management, investment banking, or financial analysis are an advantage
• Exposure to analysing companies or financial statements in any capacity (academic projects, competitions, personal investing) is welcome
• No prior buy-side experience required — we will train the right candidate
Skills & Competencies
• Solid foundational knowledge of financial statements, valuation concepts, and investment analysis
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Bloomberg or financial databases is a plus
• Basic knowledge of Python, SQL, or data tools is an advantage but not required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present ideas clearly and concisely
• Intellectually curious with a genuine passion for markets and investing
• Detail-oriented, organised, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Strong ethical standards and sound professional judgement
